Exciting news! I'm going to Paris for the United Nations conference on climate change. (If you're interested in getting more information about it you can check it out here... http://www.cop21.gouv.fr/en.) I'll be going with a group of students from here in Utah from the American International School of Utah (AISU) and providing photo and IT support for the team.
For several months I've been toying with buying a Sony a7Rii and this last weekend I rented one for our trip to the Moab Folk Festival to give it a go and see if I liked it enough to take the plunge. The trip to Paris of course is the impetus for the 'sooner rather than later' purchase decision.
Well the short answer is I loved it. There's always that frustrating learning curve trying to figure out 'where's the button for X' or 'how to enable Y' which I didn't quite get over in one weekend. But, I loved many of the features (articulating screen, front and back dials for setting speed and f-stop, integrated level) and the abilities of the sensor which has a wider dynamic range then my current Canon.
I made this image with the Sony on Sunday morning when we attended the breakfast patio jam session.
