Peru has some amazing ruins. Obviously this isn't one of them. But, it's nearby one, actually on top of one.
To break the Quechua people the Spanish tore down many of their buildings and built new structures over the top of them. This cross is in the courtyard of a Catholic church built on the ruins near Chinchero.
The stark form of the cross against the empty sky and the children playing below struck me and I tried to capture the moment. This image was made with an infrared converted camera so some processing was done to convert it to black and white and bring out the contrast. I haven't, yet, done any additional processing but I think the image is well composed and worthy of some additional efforts.
I'm posting this 'before' version today for a before/after comparison. Come back in a few days to see the 'after'.
