Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi is breathtaking.  The brilliant white marble radiates light as-if from within and the 350' tall minarets can be seen for miles. The mosque was visible from Pippa's apartment balcony when she was teaching there and while I was visiting her I made numerous trips to the mosque trying to capture its beauty and resplendence.  While I'm satisfied with several of the images I made I'm not convinced that I captured its full presence.  I'd love to go back and try again some day.

Construction of the mosque was completed in 2007. The complex is approximately 290 m (960 ft) by 420 m (1,380 ft), covers an area of more than 12 hectares (30 acres) and can accommodate 40,000 worshipers. There are 82 domes in seven different sizes, and four minarets which rise about 107 m (351 ft) in height.
